- 55% will cut back on something else to make room for Black Friday, most often eating out and takeout (25%).
- About 1 in 5 (22%) expect to still be paying off this year's purchases after January, rising to 53% of buy now, pay later users.
- In NRF's holiday survey, 56% of holiday shoppers say the economy will affect their holiday spending, and 64% say they're likely to wait until Thanksgiving weekend to do most of their shopping.

5 ways to keep Black Friday from following you into 2027
- Budget from cash you'll have by Nov 27, not from your credit limit.
- Write the gift list first, with a dollar amount next to every name. Deals for yourself come out of what's left.
- Check the price history before you buy. A "was" price isn't always what the item usually sells for.
- Be careful with buy now, pay later. Four small payments still land in December and January.
- Try a No-Spend November in the weeks before, so the money you keep becomes your Black Friday budget.
